Frame & Mullion Doors

Almost any door can be ordered as a frame or mullion door. Note that all frame doors are priced by the square foot. Mullions carry a per lite charge that is added to the price of the door. Frame and mullion doors have a one sq.ft. minimum for pricing only and do not carry an upcharge of they are over 12 sq.ft.

The standard method of placement for mullions is to equally divide the openings. Custom placement of mullions is available. Please contact us for a quote. Frame and mullion doors over 48” high will not have a center rail unless specified on that door.

To determine glass opening sizes, it is best to wait until you receive your doors and at that time measure the actual opening. If you need to know in advance, call our office and we will calculate the size for you to a tolerance of +/- 2mm. We do not calculate the glass size for true divided mullions.

Nearly any door style can be made as a frame or mullion door. The drawings below show some of the most common lite configurations for an SGP door. We have also included the actual door size with each drawing so you can see the relationship between the door size and the number of lites per door. If you have an questions about frame or mullion doors, please contact us for assistance.

When ordering a mullion door please indicate the configuration of the lites by using this format: The first number indicates the quantity of horizontal lites and the second number indicates the quantity of vertical lites. An example:
A 2x2 mullion indicates 2 lites in width and 2 lites in height, while a 2x3 mullion indicates 2 lites in width and 3 lites in height.

Mullion strips will be placed to equally divide the width and the height of the door by the number of lites you have chosen. If custom placement of mullion strips is required, please advise us when you place your order. All glass designs are also available in arch styles.
